In Loving Memory ~
Caryl Ann Wastl, 65, of Nelson, BC, passed away March 18, 2022. She was born in California and adopted into the loving family of Elsie and Jim Unopulos.
Caryl has been an active member of the Nelson Community since 1988 and was a well-respected businesswoman, owning Ramsay's as well as Kootenay Lake Apartments.
Caryl was the most vibrant, strong and free-spirited woman with an incredible zest for life. She had a passion for adventure, travel, different cultures and gardening. She was an absolute foodie and music held a special place in her heart. She had such a curious mind, she wanted to talk to everyone and learn their life story. Caryl had an incredibly generous heart always wanting to help and without fail gave everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Caryl was a loving mother who was always there to catch her children and help them to navigate life. She was an incredible grandmother who always had a twinkle in her eye eager to help them get into mischief. Caryl is survived by her children, Alivia Cortez, Anthony Cortez, Michael Cortez and Katrina Wastl-Galloway along with five beautiful grandchildren and three brothers.
Life will be less colourful without Caryl in it. Her family and friends are better people for having had her in their lives.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later time.
