July 19, 1933 - March 4, 2019
With aching hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.

Chuck was born in the Nelson Hospital to Edith and Charles Symmonds. Chuck lived in Beasley and Nelson his entire life where he made many friends. He was employed by C.P.Rail from the age of 18 until his retirement in April 1991. He married Marlene Bissett in 1975. Chuck happily became a stepfather to Marlene's children, Daryl (Beverly), Monte (Laura), and Jaimie Lee (John) and a beloved Grandfather to their children Stefanie, Matt, Shawn, Jarret (Shantel), Jesse (Diane), Cam (Amy), Ashley-Ann (Stephanie), Dolan (Meagan). His great-grandchildren Jadyn, Rylan, Damyn, Evan, Emrie-Lyn, Taylor, Teagan, Wyatt and Savannah.

Chuck was predeceased by his parents Charles and Edith Symmonds, his sister Jean, his half-brothers Ralf, Don and Doug. He is survived by his half-sister Bernice and two nephews Grant Buyar and John Gross.

Chuck had many hobbies, fishing, motorcycling and he was an avid golfer and bowler. He was coach to the Kootenay All Star Men's Bowling team winning the B.C. Championship Trophy and they went on to win the Canadian Title. His golf was happy time for him and he was still playing golf three days a week last year. He became a member of the Sunday Srs. Crib Club and looked forward to his Sunday afternoons. He was also a member of the Kokanee Good Sam Club enjoying camping rallys but the best years of Chuck's and Marlene's retirement were the 12 years spent in Arizona being Snowbirds with their close friends.

Chuck was a very special man. He was a loving, caring Husband and loved his family with all his heart. We are going to miss him. We will love him and remember him always through the great memories he gave to us.

The family thanks the Ambulance Medics, Dr. Sparrow, Dr. Hand and the Nursing Staff for the care given to Chuck.

There will be a Celebration of Life in July 2019, the date to be announced later.
