In loving memory ~
Christopher Tye Beauchamp was born and raised in Nelson, British Columbia. From an early age, it was apparent that Tyzee would march to the beat of a different drummer. We loved Tye. He sometimes drove us up the wall. Still, we always loved him.
Tye lived a big life. He fought fires in the mountains of BC. He was trained as a guide in Canmore, Alberta. He flew airplanes and helicopters. He built amazing things with his hands. He lived in many places and formed many connections. He made people smile.
His sense of humor was so quick, and often so sharp, that it left many of us clutching our sides and wheezing for air. You just knew it was coming. He made us laugh before he said something funny. A serious laughing fit is a special gift, and Tye gave us many over the years.
He didn't see much need for rules and regulations, and he generally went against the grain. If everyone went one way, Tye would stroll in the other direction. He spoke his mind. He stuck up for people, often with little concern for himself. He was brave and unyielding, which got him into a little trouble at times.
Tye's final chapter was in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua, where he found the love of his life, Wendy Davila. Many people search their whole lives for what they found in each other. In this way, he was lucky, despite the short time they had.
In the end, he could not overcome his long battle with alcohol. He loved deeply, even though his struggles with addiction complicated many of his relationships. Alcoholism is convoluted and difficult, and Tye ran out of time. He was private with his health and in his death, but please know that he loved his friends and family, especially his son Adden.
Tye passed peacefully on May 5th, 2025, in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua with his wife Wendy by his side. Along with Wendy, he is survived by his son Adden Beauchamp, of Toronto, Ontario, his brother Gray Beauchamp (wife Victoria, daughter Vivian Emily), of Denver, Colorado, and many loving relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Emily Beauchamp, who always loved Tye, no matter what. Tye, you will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Tye's life is in the making. We will get the word out.
