Clare Binkley Ross, beloved wife of the late James Ross (formerly of Vauxhall, Alberta), passed away peacefully in Nelson on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the age of 99 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Tabe, Alberta on Friday, April 15, 2022 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The funeral service will be held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber, Alberta on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. Burial to follow at the Vauxhall Cemetery, Vauxhall, Alberta. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at www. southlandfuneral.com.
Clare will be lovingly remembered by her sons Bruce Ross of both Vauxhall, Alberta and Balfour and James Ross Jr. of Kaslo; by her grandchildren, her twin granddaughters Margaret (Dean) Myles and Melissa Clifford, John Ross, James Ross, Rachel (Trevor) Colligan and by her one and only great grandson, Jackie-James Pilipishen.
She was predeceased by her husband James, brother Robert, sister Joan, daughter Heather, daughter-in-law Shelley, grandsons Jeremy and Dane and by a niece, Valerie.
Clare was born on November 13, 1922 in Edmonton, Alberta. She married the love of her life, James Andrew Ross on February 14, 1946 in Edmonton, Alberta, then moved to Vauxhall, Alberta to farm. They had three children Heather, Bruce and James Jr.
The family moved to Nelson and purchased the Royal Hotel in 1963 and then returned to their Vauxhall farm in 1973.
The Ross' enjoyed traveling, with numerous trips to England and Scotland, Eastern Canada, Hawaii and a Caribbean cruise. They spent their retirement residing between Arizona and Balfour and made Balfour their permanent residence in 2000.
