March 11, 1934 - October 18, 2018
Claudia was born in Nelson on March 11, 1934 and raised on the family farm in Sunshine Bay. She attended the Procter Superior School. She and her best friend and Bridge partner, Audrey Maida were the only two students in the only grade 12 graduating class in the Procter School. Their principal, Mr. Richard Hibberd had introduced Correspondence Courses such as Latin to allow them to graduate on the university entrance program.

Claudia worked for the B.C. Telephone Co., Hudson Bay Company, and Local 131 of the Operating Engineers Union.

She enjoyed being on the water whether on her family tug boat, the Snug Cove, or simply rowing a boat. She was an avid reader with many other interests including curling, sewing, artistic painting, and of course cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays in her later years.

She was an active volunteer in the community and was the first Recording Secretary for the group that gathered in her father's living room in June 1969 to discuss the development of a Community Park at Sunshine Bay. She held that position for many years which included the process of establishing Sunshine Bay Park as the 1971 Centennial Project.

Claudia married Edward Sikula on April 6, 1959, celebrating 59 years of marriage last spring. Together they enjoyed camping, canoeing, hunting, gun shows and working on the Westarm Outdoorsman's game banquet fundraisers. She was their Club Secretary/Treasurer for many years. They hosted countless Christmas Eve dinners and family gathering which were always a barrel of fun and laughter. Claudia had a wonderful sense of humour, and an infectious smile that would light up a room, complemented by her many hidden talents.

Claudia passed away peacefully at the Kootenay Lake Hospital on October 18, 2018 with her husband by her side. She will always be lovingly remembered. She was predeceased by her beloved daughters, Paulette Linda Martin and Teresa (Terri) Marie Sikula, parents Lorna (nee MacLean) and Nicholas Dosenberger. She is survived by her husband Edward Sikula, Kendall Goodrich (Terri), siblings Nick (Mary) Dosenberger and Elaine (Charles) Beaulac, many nephews, nieces and cousins in the Sikula and Dosenberger families.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service as per Claudia's request. The family will hold a private family gathering at a later date.

Special thanks to her many Doctors and the nursing staff of the 3rd floor at Kootenay Lake Hospital for their outstanding care and support.
