Crystal Mason Ripley, Age 59 of Oakville Ontario passed away peacefully at home October 23, 2015 surrounded by family after a long illness. Crystal was born and grew up in Nelson, BC and left after attending high school at L.V. Rogers to pursue her education and career, eventually obtaining her Masters in Business Administration and working at various high-end positions in banking while located in Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto. She returned as often as possible to Nelson and one of her favourite places was the family property on Kootenay Lake where many happy memories were created with family and friends. Crystal enjoyed travel, scrapbooking, and other similar creative pursuits, genealogy, Kootenay history , and her backyard pool and oasis which her kids and grandchildren knew affectionately as Club Nana’s. Crystal refused to let her illness define her and was a huge inspiration to family and friends on how to focus on what is good in your life and get busy living. Many of us can say we learned many valuable lessons from Crystal’s example and counsel. A beautiful soul, she was a valued mentor and source of wisdom and guidance to her friends and family and was always willing to lend an ear and help out.Crystal is survived by her daughters Cassandra (Bruce) and Savannah (Nick), grandchildren Jamie, Juliana and Jack, husband Mike Ripley and daughters Angela (Justin), Krista (Patrick), and grandchildren Marley and Colton, parents Earl and Maureen Mason of Nelson, and brothers Alan, Scott, Neil and Ian. Gone but not forgotten; much loved; much missed;
