David Michael Wilson (Sasquatch)

January 3, 2022

January 3, 2022
With sadness, the family of Dave Wilson announces his death from Advanced Metastatic Melanoma on January 3, 2022 in his 63rd year.
Pre-deceased by his parents Doug Wilson (1994) and Sylvia Wilson (2012), he is survived by son Dylan Valian, and "pinhead" siblings Sharron Abbott (Allan), Paul (Brenda), Deborah Floyd (David) and little brother Steven. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, cousins and many long time friends who were like family to him.
Born in Brantford, he called BC his home for many years, and despite his challenges he lived a remote and independent life full of love for nature and animals. He was known for his sense of humour and lived his life his way, a strength that served him well. His ashes will be spread near Slocan BC.
Though he lived far from us, he was never far from our thoughts and hearts. He was loved.
We are grateful to his many friends and connections, including Doctor Sonnichsen, employees of the Nelson Food Bank, Richard, Liz, Johnny, and anyone who was there for him during his life, and his illness.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Funeral Service in Nelson, B.C. Please visit https://www.thompsonfs.ca/obituary/david-wilson/ to leave a message of condolence for David's family. There will be no services, but we ask that you consider remembering Dave with a donation to your local food bank, or animal shelter in his memory.
