June 15, 1960 - May 1, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with the most broken of hearts that the family of Debra "Deb" Lou Miller announce, after a courageous battle against cancer, with loved ones by her side, she passed away on May 1, 2024, at Kootenay Lake Hospital at the young age of 63.

Vern and Gwen Miller welcomed their 4th child, Deb, into the world on June 15, 1960, in Nelson, BC. Deb, along with her family moved to Kelowna, BC in the 70's and after living out her teen years in Kelowna, Deb made her way back to the Kootenays where she put down her roots and started a beautiful life.

Those who knew Deb knew she had a huge heart for horses. Her love for horses started at an early age and continued throughout her life. Deb's love for horses was re-ignited when one of her daughters got her first horse, and that horse introduced Deb to her future Barn Family in Blewett. Over the years at the barn, she smothered her horses with love - Katie, Shorty-Boy and Coco-A-Nut!

Other passions of Deb's included bowling, crafting (or as the Miller's called "in the business") playing the slots, taking care of her yard, canning and endless cuddles with her Rosie cat. But above all that, Deb felt the most love and fulfillment when she spent time with her grandchildren - Amelia, Sydney, Jayden and Dayne.

She will lovingly be remembered by her mother, Gwen Miller; brothers Ryan (Beth) Miller, Rory Miller; sisters Shelley (Brian) Ingle and Jill (Mark) Miller; her 2 daughters; Lisa Horst & Lindsey (Guy) Worsnop, 4 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family & friends. She now joins her dad (Vern Miller) among the angels.

A private celebration of life will be held. Gwen Ziprick of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the amazing team at Kootenay Lake Oncology Unit for all their compassion and love on this journey. As an expression of sympathy please donate to the BC Cancer Society or the Kootenay Lake Hospital Oncology unit.
