DeLaurentiis: On Friday, October 15, 2010 Domenico DeLaurentiis beloved husband of Nicoletta of Salmo, BC passed away at the age of 85 years in Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC. Domenico was born in Altino, Chieti, Italy on May 16, 1925 to Berardino and Carmela DeLaurentiis. Domenico and Nicoletta were married in Italy on December 2, 1950 and immigrated to Canada in June 1951 settling in Salmo working at the Canex Mines. In 1961 the family moved to Vancouver where they bought and operated an Italian resteraunt. In 1963 the family moved back to Salmo where they have resided since. Domenico retired from his last job as a guard for the RCMP in Salmo at the age of 70.

Domenico and Nicoletta loved to travel, seeing much of Europe, Mexico the U.S.A., Bahamas and Australia. They enjoyed a trip to Italy in October 2009. He was active in various community projects, local politics, Lions Club, Colombo Lodge, and the Italian Society.

Domenico will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nicoletta, son Berardino (Alice) of Vancouver, daughter Aurora (Bob) of Salmo, 3 grandchildren, Dale, Michael (Ashley), Adam (Trina), 4 great grandchildren Nicole, Mitchell, Tyson, Dominic, 2 brothers Antonio (Maria), and Amedeo.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 10:30 AM from the Salmo Legion Hall with Father Marcel Cote as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Nelson Mausoleum.
