Donald Stewart McEwen passed away peacefully on January 6 in the Kootenay Hospital after a short illness. Don was born in Gravelburg, Saskatchewan, April 26, 1925. He worked for the Edmonton Fire Department and then moved to South Slocan in 1989, where he was involved with the BC Seniors Games, and the Passmore Seniors. He spent the last year, pleasantly, at Lake View Village in Nelson.

Don was predeceased by his wife Joyce and his eldest daughter Bonnie. He is missed by his daughters; Donna McEwen (Franz Grubba/Sammie, Robin, Noelle), Maureen McEwen (Lance Hall/Sky, Brook, Sunny, Meadow), Judi Robinson (Brian/Ben, Cedar, Bonnie), and Bonnie’s children (June, Misty, Josh, Laurel, Avrell), plus 13 great-grandchildren.
