It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Loughery on April 16, 2022. Dorothy was born in Bellville, Ontario, on August 2, 1938, and spent her childhood in Nova Scotia. She met and married Stu and made their home in Nelson where they raised 2 children.
Family meant everything to her. She was always in the kitchen baking, cooking, or doing preserves - everything from scratch. She was always there for anything you needed, even if it was just to talk.
Every spring she couldn't wait to plant the garden and get the flowers in. Roses were her favourite. She enjoyed trips to Nova Scotia, Asia, Europe, and England with her sister and best friend Lois.
Dorothy's family and friends will always remember her independence, good work ethics, and 'press on' attitude.
She is survived by her daughter Joanne (Mark), son Stewart, grandson Liam, and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr Andre Kristen for many years of great care and his staff who were always willing to help. Thank you to Thompson Funeral Service for handling all the arrangements.
Dorothy will always be in our hearts and thoughts, never forgotten. As requested, there will be no service.
