July 27, 1961 - October 8, 2021
In loving memory of Elizabeth Della Coleman (nee Lewis) 60, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Liz is survived by her loving husband, Gregory, and two sons, Timothy and Christopher.
Liz was born in Kamloops BC on July 27th, 1961. She was the youngest of 6 children of Jean Lewis (nee Sweeney).
Liz is survived by her siblings Allan Fraser, Margaret Oram (nee Fraser), Phillip Lewis, Raymond Lewis and their extended family friends Sam & Lynda Monteith.
She is predeceased by one brother, Mike Lewis (died 2017), Mother Jane (died 1996), and Father Alvin (died 1968).
Liz and Greg were married in 1983. Both boys were born in Golden BC and then the family moved to Nelson BC in 1989.
In 2002, Greg and Liz moved into their beautiful new home at their rural community project - Grandview Properties. Liz and Greg began development at Grandview in 1999, and it would not have evolved without the endless efforts and participation of Liz.
Liz and Greg bought their first boat in 1991 and always looked forward to enjoying every summer on Kootenay Lake with their family and friends. Thirty years of boating on beautiful Kootenay Lake created so many memories for Liz and Greg.
During recent winters, Liz and Greg made time to travel to Arizona where they were fortunate to meet the same people year after year, to enjoy the beautiful winter climate and outdoor activities of the area.
To Liz's siblings and their families, our words can not express our heartfelt appreciation for all your assistance during the past few months.
Our gracious thanks to Liz's care team at Kootenay Lake Hospital, and especially to Dr. Kelly Mieske for all her support and guidance through our final journey with Liz.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation. A private celebration of life for Liz will be held later.
Our love for Liz will endure forever. Her beautiful smile, her constant nurturing, her many words of wisdom and her enthusiasm for every walk- through life; She will always be in our thoughts.
