Elise passed away in Victoria, BC after a long struggle with dementia.
She is survived by daughter Brenda (Bruce), 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister Joyce and nieces. She was predeceased by husband Bob, 1954, and sons Blair (Pat), 2006, and Lee (Lavona), 2020.
Elsie will be remembered for her dedication to teaching, her love of family, walking, cross-country skiing, reading and gardening. She made the rounds for Christmases, visiting every third year with suitcases full of baking and gifts.
She was a "doer", not a "talker", and preferred to stay in the background, always willing to lend a helping hand and skilled at fixing, painting and renovating. Special thanks to Carol and Art Mawer for all of their help over the years, especially the huckleberry picking trips that Mom loved so much.
