Our dearest Felice died peacefully on Sept 18, 2020 at age 97. Born in the States to immigrant parents, she later became one herself upon moving to Canada in 1970 with her husband Max (they married in 1945) and their three youngest children.
Throughout her life she was always supportive of family and friends, and was an activist for peace, justice, natural foods and quality education. In Nelson she taught at St. Joseph's School, and later ran a small prepared food business.
She loved gardening, reading and playing piano, and she encouraged her children and grandchildren to excel as artists, dancers and musicians. In later years she and Max were active in both the Nelson and Vancouver secular Jewish communities.
After his death in 2005, she continued to live in Nelson, surrounded by family, until 2014 when she moved into care.
Felice is survived by children Connie, Mark (Liz), Abram and Elaine (Peter); grandchildren Siara (Oliver), Emilee (Jeremy), Sasha (Emma) and Dylan (Leah); and great-grandchildren Sampson, Max, Olivia, Norah and Rorik.
Felice was predeceased by Max and daughter Norie. The family is particularly grateful for the excellent care she received while at The Pavillion in New Denver.
