April 20, 1931 - April 20, 2025
In loving memory ~
Feng Fang Yi was born in Guangdong Province, China on April 20, 1931. Feng passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the morning of April 20, 2025, on what would have been her 94th birthday.
She spent the first half of her life in China, with her husband Guan Wing Chuck and raised four daughters. She first arrived in Canada in 1993, to meet her three daughters, Susan, Vicky, and Lori, who had settled in Nelson, BC. Her years in Canada were spent in retirement.
Feng was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and took great pleasure in spending time with her family and making special foods for them. She loved to peruse the local grocery stores for the best produce, where she was well loved by the staff at Safeway. She spent many moments of her life taking care of her garden, admiring her flowers and enjoying the sunshine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Guan Wing Chuck. She is survived by her daughters: Susan (Tim) Jay, Vicky (Alex) Wang, and Lori (Ken) Liang, grandchildren: Jennifer, Jessica, Noelle, and Rachel, and great-grandchild: Adriana. A private funeral service for family will be held.
Feng's family would like to express thanks to Dr. Van der Vyver, Dr. Johannson, and the nurses and staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital for their compassionate care over her life and in her final days. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
