Her infectious smile lit up a room. Her sparkling eyes inspired trust, mischief and delight. Her intelligence, curiosity in all things and quick wit was a joy to behold. Her kind and gentle nature belied the true strength and feistiness of our Irish beauty.
An explorer and grand adventurer of the outer world, she was also captivated by journeys to the inner realm of mind, spirit, mystery and soul.
In her company she gifted us her authenticity, presence and light. Gone far too early is a human supernova, bright, expanding, everlasting. Somehow the angels have conspired and now they are being coached, organized and nourished. Lucky them.
So rich a life story. Fiona did not wish to be remembered for her achievements, roles or titles. She was simply there for us. There is no greater gift. You are loved. You are lovely.
Missing you dearly are your cherished children, Teyo and Mahalia Glass, your soulmate, anam cara and partner Mike Stolte, your stepchildren Connor and Katie Stolte, your parents Brian and Mary Mooney (still in the place of so many magical memories at your childhood home ‘Fox Lodge’) in Ballymagorry, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, sisters Jillian (Calgary), Hillary (Birmingham, UK), brother Neale (Stirling, UK), ex-husband Angus - who began this “one year” adventure to Canada 23 years ago with our Fi, and other family and friends scattered around the world, whose lives you profoundly touched, and by so doing, enriched. And, of course, your dear dog Ivy.
A memorial will be held for Fiona at Touchstones Museum in Nelson on Sunday, May 29th at 3:30 pm. Please make donations to Touchstones Museum Collections in Fiona’s name in lieu of flowers.
