With great sadness the family of Frances Weinrauch (Fran) announce her passing at the age of 95 at the Nelson Hospital on February 5, 2022.
Born to Mary and John Robins on January 2,1927 at East Arrow Park (near Nakusp). She attended a country school at East Arrow Park and went to High School in Nakusp.
In 1944 she came to Nelson to attend business college. Her first two office jobs were at McDonald Jam and National Fruit in Nelson.
She met her husband Edward at the Civic Centre skating rink and they were married October 30,1948 in Nakusp.
Their first daughter was born in 1950 and Fran became a homemaker. Together they raised 5 children, two daughters and three sons.
In 1967 Fran went back to work for 10 years at the business office at Notre Dame University.
She was a member of the Catholic Woman's League for 45 years and volunteer at Mt St Francis.
She was known for her many Afghans, knitting of baby outfits, blankets and sweaters. Family and friends also enjoyed her wonderful baking.
Fran is predeceased by husband Edward (1990), sons David and Bruce (2019), parents Mary and John, brothers Bill and Paul and sister Evelyn.
She is survived by her daughters Gail Reeves (Gerry), Sharon Mouwen, son Barry Weinrauch (Peggy) and daughter in-law Debbie House. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by her family.
The family would like to thank the Doctor and nurses at the Nelson Hospital, IHA home support nurses and care givers for your kind care provided for Fran in the comfort of her own home.
Service details will be announced in the spring of 2022.
