October 25, 1935 - April 20, 2019
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dad Francis (Frank) Parr at the age of 83, on Saturday April 20th, 2019.

Born October 25th, 1935 in Cold Lake Alberta to parents Naomi Young and Frederick Parr.

Predeceased by parents Naomi and Frederick Parr, wife Margaret Parr, brother Fred, and special friend Marie Carson.

Survived by daughters Donna (Barry) Markin, Peggy (Robert) Klapstein, Laurilee (Victor) Commandeur, Bonnie Burton, and Norma (Jim) Lock, brothers Bill (Neta) Parr, Richard Parr, sister-in-law Cathy Parr, 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and his dog Charlie.

Dad was in the transportation business all of his life. He owned and operated Roken Intercity Freight Lines for 25 years, retiring in 1996 at the age of 60. Once retired Dad had a hobby farm in Slocan Park where he had sheep, wild pigs (for a short period of time), chickens, pheasants, peacocks, ducks, geese, and guinea fowl.

Other hobbies were watching hockey and wrestling, reading westerns and attending many, many rodeos all across BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. His pride and joy was his scooter, which gave him his freedom when he had to turn in his license.

Dad's one request in his life was that he not have to go into a home, and thanks to the help of Robert, Amanda, Emily and JP, I was able to fulfill his wish. Thank you Laurilee and Victor for your weekend visits and help when needed.

Celebration of Life will be held May 11th, 2019 11 am to 2 pm at St. Joseph's Gym. 523 Mill Street, Nelson, BC.
