In loving memory ~
Dowes, Freda Jane Louise passed away peacefully at Mountain Lake Seniors Community on September 27, 2024, at the age of 97.
Freda was born and raised in Trail and eventually moved to Nelson where she went to work in Medical records at the Nelson Hospital. In 1948 she married Joe Dowes and they set up their home in South Slocan. Freda went back to work in Medical records after her children were in school and eventually retired in 1985. Freda was a member of the South Slocan Hospital Auxiliary for many years.
Freda and Joe spent most of their summers camping, fishing and boating...they loved the outdoors. When Joe passed away in 2010 Freda sold the family home and moved to Nelson.
Predeceased by her husband Joe and daughter-in-law Evelyn. Freda will be sadly missed by her daughter Jane (Mike Bentley) and son Tim.
Grandchildren Gordon (Leanne), Chad (Mary-Jo), Ryan (Carrie), Travis (Victoria), and Kailey (Bill). Twelve Great-grandchildren. A family memorial will be held next summer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Beach View Cottage for all their wonderful care. She loved living there and called it home!
