Jeana DeGirolamo, 94, passed away peacefully at Mountain Lake Seniors Community on Wednesday, June 29th, 2011.

Jeana was born in Trail B.C., the oldest of 4 girls. She married John in 1936 and they made their home at Mountain Station in Nelson for 65 years before moving to Mountain Lake Seniors Community. Jeana was a master in the kitchen, she took great pride in her flower garden and she enjoyed playing cards even up to her last hours.

Jeana will be sadly missed by her loving family, daughter Geri, son Norm (Charlene), grandchildren Cameron, Christie, Michele (Trevor) and Murray, great grandsons Jordin and Riley, sisters Inez Parisotto and Serena Zanussi, brother-in-law George DeGirolamo, sister-in-laws Eda Orlando and Floria Cameron. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Other than her parents, Jeana was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, John, in 2007, son-in-law Jerry McRobb and sister Rena Munger.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Mountain Lakes Senior Community where Jeana resided for the last 5 years.

A celebration of her long life will be held on Friday, July 29 at 10:30 am at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate, 813 Ward Street, Nelson, BC. Inurnment to follow at the Nelson Memorial Park Cemetery. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Service Ltd.
