In loving memory ~

Gloria was born in North Battleford Saskatchewan. The Pierce Family moved to B.C. in the late 60s.

Her dad worked at sawmills, and they moved often. It sounds like he passed in the 1980s. They settled in Nelson around 1973. Gloria's mom passed in 2003. So now Gloria and her sisters Bernice and Marilyn got separated. They went to different Homeshares in Nelson.

Gloria had to relocate after 1 and a half years after the homeshare provider moved to Alta. She now moved to live in Krestova with Sonia Rywaczuk, in a homeshare. She lived there for 14 years. Gloria got more independent, volunteered at Daily Bread for 12 years, loved it and the people she worked with.

She worked at Positive Apparel as well as the Kootenay Recycling Office. She walked a lot and made more friends. She considered herself as part of Sonia's family, and this was her home.

In 2019 Gloria started to decline, so homeshare wasn't an option anymore. In January 2021, Gloria moved to Castleview Facility in Castlegar, which wasn't easy. She slowly got used to it and called it home. She liked the staff very much.

On July 14, 2024, Gloria passed due to heart and kidney problems.

Gloria's last move was to Park Memorial Cemetery in Castlegar, where her sisters were buried. Gloria wanted a luncheon after the service and that was provided.

I would like to thank all the people that were involved with her, the friends, neighbours, Respite Support and especially the awesome Handy Dart bus drivers. Without you it wouldn't work. Thank you to all the girls at Castleview.

She had a good send off July 23, 2024.

May she rest in peace,

in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
