August 22, 2022
On August 22, we received the sad news that Grant had passed, after a short battle with prostate cancer.
He leaves his wife Allison, son Mitchell, daughter Adrienne, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also brothers Don( Barb), Gerry( Dee), sisters Sheilah (George) Laurie(Al).
He was predeceased by his parents, Hallam and Ruby and sister Holly.
He was born in Nelson, raised in Proctor, where he started school, then bused to Nelson for junior and senior years. Then attended Selkirk college for courses in forestry.
Travelled to Australia where he met his future wife. She came to Canada and they were married in 1973, resided in Nelson until the birth of their son, and returned to Australia, where their daughter was born.
Grant will be fondly remembered for his ironic sense of humour, loving to sit and have beer with friends and family. He had great pride in his family and loved all his grand babies, always keeping them close.
A celebration of life will be held in Australia, with a private memorial in April 2023. Rest In Peace bro.
Donations to prostate cancer research will be greatly appreciated.
