Our much adored man in our life passed away Friday June 1st just shy of his 86th birthday. He is survived by the love of his life Johan and three daughters, Sandra Ayres (Art), Betty-Jo Holcombe (Richard), and Lora Mason (Samir Doshi). Missing their Grandpa are Alex, Derek, Lisa, Scott, Shaun, Jeyna, Kaya and Mason.

Harry is survived by his siblings Earl, Ernie and Beryl Walgren, all of Nelson, and Janet Hulktrans of Terrace. Brother Richard predeceased him.

Harry was born in Grand Forks but graduated from Nelson High School in 1952. Much of his life was spent in Nelson. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce. His occupations included mail delivery, insurance, real estate and paper boy for the exercise in adulthood.

Dad was a "caretaker". He made sure everyone was okay whether it was his grandfather, parents Clarence and Alice, Mom especially, and his girls. It takes a special man to raise daughters and he was. Daily coffee with his brother, weekly with his local family and friends were important to him. He is deeply missed.

The family has requested no flowers but rather donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. An open house to celebrate Harry's life will take place on Friday, June 8, 2018 between 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Service, 613 Ward St. All are welcome to attend and share their memories of Harry.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family's online register at www.thompsonfs.ca.
