1930 Hungary - 2020 Nelson BC ~ It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Ibolya "Violet" Hugli at the age of 90.
She is survived by her sons Frank Jr. and Richard (Wendy) and predeceased by her husband Frank Sr. Violet was fiercely independent and determined to never be a burden to those who knew and loved her.
She was, however, always the first to offer help to everyone. She could often be seen assisting the guests of Nelson extended care facilities by fetching coffee or offering some sassy words of encouragement while visiting friends.
Every fall and winter season Violet would bake delicious treats for the people in care homes or her apartment complex. She cherished the little things like seeing a smiling face upon receipt of contraband chocolates.
She loved shopping for bargains and never missed a good James Bond movie or the latest whodunnit novel. Always matter of fact but with the best intentions and compassionate to those who needed it. Violet leaves a hole in the hearts of all of us she left behind.
A celebration of life will not be held at this time.
The family would also like to thank the 3rd floor medical and support staff of Kootenay Lake Hospital for their overwhelming empathy and caring not just for Violet but for all their patients.
In lieu of any gifts or offerings, the family prefers those to contribute to a local charity of your choice.
