Jean Louise Hughes

January 21, 1930 - April 2, 2019
Jean Louise Hughes (nee Wilson) passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019 at the age of 89 with family by her side. Jean was born in Reston, Manitoba January 21, 1930. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Lily Wilson, husband John Brian Hughes, sister Marion, grandson Robert Berry. Jean will be remembered by her three loving daughters, Sandra Berry (David), Jo-Anne Close (Pat), Jaqueline Kilduff (Brian). She will also be remembered by her grandchildren: Jeffrey, Pamela, Aaron, Lindsay, Michele, and Ryan. At the time of her death she was very proud to have 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Jean grew up on a farm just outside Reston Manitoba before her and Brian moved to Nelson, B.C. as young adults. Jean and Brian enjoyed raising their three girls in Nelson where they were active in the Kinsmen/Kinette club. Jean was a homebody who loved to putt around the house and work in the garden. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Special thanks to her caregivers at Dovehill (Chemanus,BC)and Acacia TyMawr (Shawnigan Lake, BC) who tended to her well in her last years.
