It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that the Aubert family announces the passing of our strong, courageous and loving mother. Had we not loved you so much, we would not hurt so much. We carry you close in our hearts always and forever.

Mom leaves behind Dolph, her husband of 58 years, and her 7 children and their families: Mike(Linda) Aubert – grandchildren James (Michelle) and Thomas (Aurelia) Denise(Ed) Russell – granddaughter Jennifer (Linkoln) Frank(Vivian) Aubert – grandson Christopher, granddaughter Shay and great grandson Devon Randy Aubert – grandchildren Ryan and Hannah Anita(Les) Wood – granddaughters Tannis and Kelsey Roger( Marilyn) Aubert – grandsons Jared and Joel Cheryl Silva – grandchildren Rebecca and Michael. Her sister Mrs. Margaret Graham.

Mom had an insatiable care giving manner extending well beyond her immediate family which ultimately was the centre of her life. Her burning candle in the window beckoned many, encompassing them with warmth and compassion in her heart and home. Spanning years of dedication as President of the Catholic Women’s League in Surrey, BC she and her colleagues-as convention delegates-saw the opening of Our Lady Good Counsel Elementary School and enclosed bingo hall, which funded the facility for many years. A long standing member and volunteer of Scouts, Cubs, Girl Guides, numerous chapters of Catholic Women’s League, Seniors group and the Good Sam Club, she was hands on to every bake sale, craft fair, fund raiser, community dance, and was a Catering Coordinator extraordinaire. First to arrive last to leave, no task she undertook was impossible. She was guided by her Scottish heritage of undying loyalty to family and close friends, a fierceness of determination in every aspect of her busy life and coupled with hospitality second to none. Her personal gratification was not a job well done, rather the enjoyment others received.

Mom’s penchant for her books, knitting, sewing, crafting and her flower garden kept her close to home where she wanted to be. She was a beacon of light forever in our lives never to go out. Mom single-handedly leaves behind a legacy of butter tarts and broken hearts.

Rest now Mom, you deserve it. Every time we think of you we’ll hug youin our hearts.

Love from your family.
