John was born in Rossland, BC on April 4th, 1962, and grew up there. John passed away on September, 13th 2016 while travelling to the home he was building himself at Grohman Narrows near Nelson.

John was a free spirit and had many talents ranging from drawing and painting to carpentry. He was very curious about the world around him. His conversations were always interesting and diverse ranging from his days tree planting, the bears and cougars he ran into and his diverse views of the world.

John was working as a carpenter. John’s carpentry work extends from Revelstoke to Duncan Lake, to Rossland and Nelson and many points in between. He was Grohman’s handyman. His final endeavor was building his dream home in Grohman.

John is survived by his parents, George and Marion Parker of Montrose, his sister Kathleen (Gerry Dilling) of Penticton, his brother Gerald (Sharon) of Montrose and nephews Chris of Revelstoke and Robin of Montrose.

There will be no service by request. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
