It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved family man, Serge Michaud. A truly special husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend. His artists soul passed from this world held safely in the loving embrace of his life partner and children.
Born March 5, 1957 in Quebec City, and raised in Sherbrooke, QC, he moved out west destined to meet the woman who would hold his heart forever after.
A quiet man, his resiliency and innovation will continue to inspire us. His laughter was a calling card to join in, known well by those who loved him. He believed in simplicity, hard work, and the love of family. He was our bright light, may he rest easy knowing what an amazing man he was in all his relationships.
Predeceased by mother Ghyslaine Cote. Survived by his beloved, Deena, and their five children; Sonya Martineau, Genevieve and Danny Cecchetto, Stephane and Natasha Michaud, Colleen and Jamie Spendlove, and Emilee and Curtis Moore. They blessed him with six grandchildren; Niyah M., Vivianna and Lorenzo C., Amelie and Andre M., Leighton S.. His big sister Pauline, and best friend and brother-in-law Terry. Siblings-in-law John, Linda, Caroline, Richard, Lesley. Nieces and nephews; Bruno and Inge, Trevor and Jamie, Jason and Sarah and Adrian, Mackenzie and Lukas. And many other friends and family.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to a childrens music program, sponsor a dog in need at your local rescue, or support your local womens shelter, all worthy causes he valued. A service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday July 20th, in Nelson, BC at Thompson Funeral Home. This will be followed by a celebration of life at the home he built.
