It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and Gigi, Kathy Large.
Kathy was born on January 14th, 1935, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She was the only girl in a family of 5 children and grew up well-protected by her brothers Lloyd, Dean, Rudy & Johnny.
Kathy married her high school sweetheart, Don Large in October 1955, and together they raised four children. They moved to Nelson, B.C., in 1963 where Kathy pursued her nursing career, 1st as head nurse at KLDH and later as a head nursing administrator at Mount St. Francis, where she remained until her retirement.
Kathy enjoyed fishing and travelling but loved spending time with her family more than anything and always had a smile on her face. An avid Vancouver Canucks fan, she was a loving, caring person as well as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, Gigi, sister, aunt, and friend.
Kathy leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Lynda (Waldy), Jim (Kim), and Lori (Keith), her grandchildren Jessica, Jaime, Matthew, Amanda, Scott, Patrick, Stephanie and Shawn, her great-grandchildren Austin, Reide, Weston, Zoe, Casey and Ava, her brothers Rudy (Dorothy) and John (Elaine), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched.
A service will be held in the spring of 2023.
Heaven's gain is our loss
