It is with much sadness that Kathryn (Kate) Mary Walgren passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Kootenay Boundary Regional hospital.
Kate was predeceased by her father Michael Jordan and mother Agnes Jordan, and father-in-law Ivan Walgren.
Kate is survived by her husband and best friend of 40 years, Carl, son Eric, and huge extended family.
She will also me sadly missed by her siblings Lew Jordan(Joan), Joanne McCuaig (Don), Marylou Carelton(Terry), Annette Sackmann(Lyle) and last but not least her twin brother Joe Jordan (Teresa), her mother in law Shirley Walgren and brother in law Jim, her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Kate touched the lives of many people. Kate loved flowers and looked forward to Carl's weekly gift of the next bouquet for her table.
She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, quick wit, and laughter. She loved cooking and made many creations that will go down in history. The family always requested her famous lasagna for all special occasions, and Eric looked forward to his favorite, pumpkin cheese cake.
Kate was born in Fort Macleod, Alberta, on June 30, 1959 but spent most of her life in the West Kootenays. After her marriage Kate moved to some wonderful places in the province, including Mica Creek and Radium Hot Springs. Kate and Carl eventually found their forever home near the shores of Kootenay Lake near Nelson.
We remember Aunty Kate as the fun aunt. Kate touched the lives of many with her kindness, wonderful sense of humour, quick wit and laughter.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at 6111 Pippers Lane, Nelson, BC. All are welcome to attend.
