In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we would like to share the passing of Kim. After a long battle with congestive heart failure, Kim naturally passed away at home with his family around him.
Many know him as Nick, the server at Stanley's on Baker or the guy with the white hat. He was born in Kamloops B.C and moved many times during his childhood. His family ended up nesting in Fort St. John B.C. After a stint working for Revenue Canada in his early 20s, Nick followed his passions and traveled in India and Thailand.
After his return, he fell in love with the little town in the mountains Nelson B.C. Kim then met the love of his life Petra, and they raised four children together.
Kim was a business owner, cement finisher, curling club manager, bus driver, cab driver, waiter at a few local restaurants and provided companionship for seniors to list a few of his occupations over his life. He was a man of many talents and abilities, never hesitant to try something new.
Kim will be remembered as a person of dignity, honesty and deep spirituality. He was accepting of everyone and exemplified kindness. Many will remember him singing his favorite music as he waited tables at the cafe, his great conversations with customers as a cab driver and his walks with his beloved dog Milo at the dog beach.
Nick was an excellent father, loving grandfather and caring partner. Kim showed those around him how to act with integrity and pride, teaching many lessons to his children and family.
From the cold winters of northern BC to the ashrams of India and the busy cafe, Kim walked through life with unwavering resilience and happiness. His way of being and living greatly affected those around him.
Kim survived the passing of his parents, his wife Petra, his daughter Cassandra and granddaughter Alexis, providing strength to his family during those times.
Kim is survived by his three children, Medina, Bianka and Darshan. His four beloved grandchildren, Callum, Lylah, Evalynn and Kaidance. His partner of eight years Christine and dog Milo. His sisters, Jolene, Sherry and Debbie and many nieces and nephews. His mother in-law Christel.
