With great sadness the family of Larrie Lyle Carr announces his passing on Sunday May 30, 2021, at the age of 76 years due to complications from a stroke.
Larrie was born on April 1, 1945 in Victoria, BC, the youngest of 4 children. He met his wife Willow when visiting family in Sointula, BC. Once married Larrie and Willow moved to Vancouver and then Rutland before eventually settling in Krestova in 1979.
He became involved in the local marksman community winning Centerfire Rifle at the BC Summer Games in 1996. He worked as a carpenter until he semi-retired in 2010 to support his wife's farm. For the past 11 years he could be found working around the farm or riding his motorcycle along the Nelson-Kaslo-Silverton Loop.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Willow; his children Larrie (Laura), Andrew (Karilynn), Arthur (Delia), Linden (Kyle); his grandchildren Matthew, Lynnea, Rosalyn, Daria, Felix, Cypress, Pearl, Rowan and Pyper.
The family wishes to thank the staff at both Kootenay Lake District Hospital and Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital for the exceptional care and support.
A private family service has taken place.
