In loving memory ~
Leigh (Liam) Brousson died peacefully at home in Nelson, B.C. on December 23, 2022, of pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife Lynn, sons Sean and Robert Brousson, Robbie Joyce and a large extended family. Raised in West Vancouver, his first passion was skiing the snowy trails of Grouse and Seymour mountains.
In his early twenties he flew to the Swiss Alps to assist the UBC Women's Ski Team in competition. Moving to Merritt B.C. in 1976, he married wife Lynn and taught elementary school for 17 years. He gradually earned his MA of Theological studies in 1994 and a PhD of Counselling in 2004. He retired in Nelson, B.C. where he realized his dream of having a private counselling practice. Ever learning, his ongoing research fuelled his passion to provide clients with the highest quality help. In Nelson, he enjoyed tennis, hiking and biking, but skiing, with all its rigorous training, remained his favourite sport, along with entering competitions with fellow ski buddies.
He gladly volunteered with the Whitewater Ski Team in Nelson to assist youths in training for competition. But his overarching passion was faith in Christ, the foundation and the strength of his being. A solid member of the Nelson church community, he formed a men's support group, forging new friendships. Leigh truly loved his family, friends and neighbours in Nelson and beyond. He will be greatly missed.
