In Loving Memory ~
Born in Vernon, BC October 11, 1936, and passed away in Nelson, BC September 4, 2023.
On the morning of September 4, 2023 dad passed away peacefully at home with family by his side.
He was a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Shiela in 2019 and is survived by his 6 children. Daughters Kellie (Gary) Christy, Susan (Lon) Orrick, sons Kevin (Julie), William (Ruby), Trevor (Kylie), Cory (Brandy), 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He moved to Nelson in the spring of 1971 and was actively involved in the community for many years with minor hockey and the WIHL. He was the chief of the North Shore volunteer fire department from 1982-2003.
He was a mechanic and welder for the Ministry of Forests for 30 years. He loved spending time in his shop tinkering and helping anyone who needed it.
The Howard family extends their deepest gratitude for the are given by Dr. Richard Milde. The support given by Andrew and Jen from the Nelson Medical Pharmacy, the cancer team in both Kootenay Lake Hospital and Kelowna General and the care givers from home support.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Van Horne family for all their love and support. We would also like to thank the staff at Thompson Funeral Service for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
To all the many friends who were always there to fill dad's days with dinners, hockey games, a cup of coffee or just plain company, we thank you..
