She will be sadly missed by daughter Rita Shannon(Jim), son Neil(Michele), granddaughter Sherry Postnikoff(James), grandson Steven and great granddaughter Kahli(Jose) also her sisters Lavina Coombe and Joyce Hupet(Clarence).
There will be no service per her request. She will be interred at Nelson City Cemetery at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. Amy Kluftinger and the staff at Cottonwoods for their loving care and kindness.
Lillian Blaseg was born November 27 1928 on her family farm in Cudworth Saskatchewan. In 1949 she married Joseph Plasko and they moved on to his farm next door, where her 3 children were all born. In 1962 they purchased the Blewett General Store outside of Nelson. Once they settled in they also delivered RR2 and RR3 mail routes for many years.
Her strong faith, outgoing personality and quick laugh made her home a welcoming place. She hosted many celebrations and she was the happiest with a house full of friends and family. They moved off the acreage and retired to a house in Nelson in 2002. She continued her hobbies of garage sales and meeting friends for weekly lunches at KFC. She loved sending cards and letters and never missed celebrating everyone's birthday. Her memory was incredible and she was the go to person to verify all dates, people and places. The grandchildren remember her "Grip that could take down a grown man" when she got a hold of a hand.
In September 2013 she moved to Kelowna to be closer to family and enjoyed 6 years in her apartment at Highlands Retirement Centre.
She moved to Cottonwoods August 2019 and was well loved by everyone there.
