In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lloyd A. Rymal. After a brief, unanticipated breakdown in health Lloyd (age 93) went home to his heavenly father on July 29th, 2022.
Lloyd was predeceased by his loving wife Berniece M. Rymal (2017), his father Joseph Delmar Rymal (1976), mother Ida May Rymal (1974), brother Keith Rymal (1984); survived by his sister Jean Madeline Webster of Qualicum Beach. Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his children, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, grandkids, and numerous friends.
How do you sum up a lifetime of memories and accomplishments in a few short paragraphs? Well to start Lloyd (b. September 11, 1928) became a Kootenay local back in the 1950's having moved here from Saskatchewan and later Edmonton. Lloyd started out as a delivery driver for a local bakery; he was fond of telling how he had delivered over 2 million loaves of bread thus making him the biggest "loafer" in town.
Life after retirement was busy; Lloyd was an active participant in the Seniors Centre where he slayed at bridge, he proudly wore the local colors in the Seniors Games (winning many a gold & silver medal) and was a regular at the Nelson Curling Club and bonspiel circle. Lloyd had a lifelong passion for snooker and coin collecting. Lloyd was a man of faith and family, quick with hugs quicker even with clever retorts. It wasn't until after his passing we discovered Lloyd was also accomplished at scrap booking. Who knew??
There is so much more to say about dad, about the time Lloyd spent here on earth and here in town...
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 25th, at his home here in Nelson. We plan an informal Open House, where you are welcome to join us between 11:30 and 3 pm. Please reach out for address if you are unsure. The hope is to share our stories and hear new ones and to celebrate a life well lived. Light refreshments will be served.
Bravo Lloyd!
You are missed.
