It is with heavy hearts the family of Loreen Dawn Anderson (nee Hird) announce her peaceful passing on December 13, 2023.
Dawn was born in Nelson B. C. on June 22, 1932 to Don and Dorothy Hird.
She was predeceased by her sister Con and her husband Alfred.
Dawn leaves behind to mourn her loss three children, Shannon (Ed), Darroll (Rose) and Lisa (Mark), eight siblings, Doug, Lynn, Joan, Jan, Pen, Pat, Naomi and Donald, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Gardening and quilting were two of Dawn's lifelong passions and she did both to perfection. She took her talents with her when she moved from Slocan to Mountain Lake Seniors Community in 2022 where she beautified a patio with her gardening skills and continued to sew for her great grandchildren and create several more quilts. Dawn cherished her friendships of which there were many, both lifelong and recent. Always curious, generous and productive, we loved that about her.
Thank you to the staff at Mountain Lake Seniors Community for their kindness, Dr. Woodward and Dr. Merritt for the compassion and care they provided our Mother.
