Jan 29, 2018
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of my wife of 65 years at the Nelson Jubilee Manor on March 22, 2018 at the age of 90.

Lorna was born in Bellevue, Alberta but was raised in many districts in Alberta with her United Church Minister father and family. She attended school in Red Deer East, Millet, Donalda and Vulcan. She also attended U of Calgary and graduated at U of Alberta with a Bachelor Degree in Home Economics in 1948. She then taught in High River, Nanton and Parkland.

Lorna met her husband in the United Church in High River. They were married by her father in 1952. She became what the RCMP called "The Second Unpaid Person" on the rural detachment of Strathmore, Okotoks and High River. They then moved back to Calgary, and finally Edmonton. After retirement in Edmonton they enjoyed 15 years as snow birds in Mesa, AZ. In 2014 they moved to Nelson, BC to be closer to their son and grandson.

Lorna is survived by her husband Douglas, son Wright, grandson Henry, as well as many relatives in Alberta and PEI.

She was predeceased by her parents Rev. J. L. Wright and Ann Margaret Wright, brothers Charles and Stanley, and sister Eleanor.

The family would like to thank Dr. T Janz, and all the staff at the Jubilee Manor for the wonderful and thoughtful care they gave Lorna while she was a resident.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorna's honour to the Nelson United Church, 602 Silica St. A Funeral Service will be held at the Nelson United Church on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. David Boyd, Officiant.
