June 15, 1934 - August 7, 2018
Malcolm "Mac" Sinclair passed away peacefully on August 7, 2018.  He had been a resident at Mountain Lake Senior's Facility in Nelson, for the past 2 years.

Mac was born in the City of Westminister, London, England on June 15, 1934. In the spring of 1939, he and family visited Mexico, where his Grandfather lived at that time. Within a year, he and family immigrated to Canada, setting up residence in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where Mac finished his elementary and high school education. He then attended Dalhousie University, Halifax, to earn his engineering and teaching degrees.

After a time spent as a high school teacher, he went back to school to earn his master's degree in mechanical engineering. It was also around this time that he became a licensed pilot to fly private aircraft. Eventually Mac made his way to B.C., where he taught math and physics at the Selkirk College Castlegar campus until his retirement.

During Mac's time at Selkirk College, he met his future wife Lee, through their mutual interest in and love of dogs. Mac would smile and say "Lee is the dog trainer. I'm the dog owner"; typical of his endearing sense of humour. He and Lee purchased a home in Nelson, which was built in 1899. Mac set about completing a full home restoration, with his unique ability to take on just about anything, and with his usual high standards of operation.

Mac is survived by his wife, Lee, brother, Nick (Rose), stepchildren Daryl, Linda and Kyle (Lynne), grandchildren, Amanda, Nick, Laura, Adam, Bryan, great grandchild, Jaxon and nephews and nieces (all Sinclairs) Roderick, Geoffrey, Matthew, Emily, James and Nicole.
