It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Marena Dyke. Predeceased by her father (Albert) survived by her husband David, her mother Maria, her brother Dan (Donna), step-children Tracy and Michelle, nieces Erica, Jaclyn and Robyn and extended family and friends.
Marena arrived in Nelson December of 1960 from Croatia. Marena excelled in basketball and volleyball in highschool. After graduating in 1972 she was employed by the Bank of Montreal and the Credit Union. She played for the Nelson Royals Ladies ball team.
After moving to White Rock in 1983 Marena became a long time employee of Surrey Metro Credit Union and was a generous volunteer with Peace Arch Hospital and the Superfluity shop.
She continued to play softball, volleyball and golf for many years, enjoyed spending time with her husband traveling in their camper and especially looked forward to any family events and family get togethers.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May7th at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Home in Surrey.
Donations can be made to the Peace Arch Hospital, GF Strong Rehab Centre or Vancouver General Hospital.
