Marie Anna Laferriere

January 8, 1942 - April 29, 2019
Born in New Liskeard Ontario as the third youngest of 17 children, Marie Anna grew up surrounded by family on their farm. She had a special gift with children and after high school went on to become an elementary school teacher, later obtaining a BA and a masters degree in education. She married Maurice Brillon and had three children; Francine, Marc, and Sylvain. After her retirement, Marie Anna moved to BC where she studied art and became an accomplished painter. Always ready to roll up her sleeves and work, she was a constant source of support for her children. Whether it was caring for her grandson
Dominic, helping with gardening, or making delicious meals, she was always providing.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, June 8th, at 612 third street in Nelson, between 5 pm and 7 pm.
