October 19, 1929 - February 14, 2019
Long time Nelson resident, Marion Esther Quirk, passed away peacefully at Jubilee Manor on February 14, 2019 in Nelson, BC.
Marion was born on October 19, 1929 in Cranbrook, BC, lived her childhood in Kimberley, BC, and moved to Nelson for her final years of high school. Following graduation, Marion began her working career with the administration department of Kootenay Lake Hospital.
After 35 years of service at the hospital, Marion retired and took up golf and travel, while continuing her volunteer work in the community. Marion worked for many years supporting the Nelson Legion and she was a board member of Jubilee Manor.
Marion is survived by her nephew Tom Quirk and niece Shari Laine. She was predeceased by her brother Edwin Quirk in 2001.
The family wish to express appreciation and thanks to the Nelson home care workers, the staff of Jubilee Manor, her many dear friends and neighbours and her family doctor, Lina Suazo Hidalgo.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
