Marleen Ann Fudge (nee Fletcher)

November 22, 1938 – March 1, 2022
In Loving Memory ~
With great sadness, our family announces the peaceful passing of Marleen at 83 years of age.
Born and raised in Vancouver, BC. Marleen graduated from Magee High School in Kerrisdale. Encouraged to learn and practice golf at Point Gray Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, Marleen developed strong golfing skills at an early age.
Memorably, Marleen won B.C. Golf Championship in a father and daughter competition at 16 years of age.
Marleen studied at University of British Columbia after graduation, but soon realized travel was a primary passion, so she took a unique opportunity in the late 50’s to tour Europe for a year with two friends. This phenomenal adventure inspired Marleen’s position as flight attendant for Air Canada, stationed in Toronto.
While living in Toronto, Marleen met Stuart Ralph Fudge married 1961). Committed to their regard of family traditions, and values, Marleen and Ralph raised three children. Karin (Peter Larsen), Brian (Francesca Fudge). Deborah (Michael Stapleton).
A stable home environment was important to Marleen. Here she enjoyed skillful sewing pursuits, entertaining friends/family, outdoor activities, and much more travel. (“I can be ready to go in 20 minutes!”)
Marleen is survived by her 7 grandchildren; Bronwyn (Justin), Gavin (Agni), Megan, Aimee, Alex, Michael and Stuart.
Thank you to KLH and Victorian Hospital staff members for their sensitive and caring professionalism. Special thanks to Thompson Funeral Home for their compassionate support with personal arrangements.
Stuart Ralph survives his beloved wife Marleen. “Rest in peace Mimi.”
