Mary spent her childhood living in the Rock family cottage on Brady's Beach, Bamfield.
She was pre-deceased by her parents Cyril and Agnes and sisters: Phyllis, Sylvia, Stella, and brother Edgar. She attended Bamfield School, St. Ann's Academy and later the University of Toronto where she received a degree in Theology.
She lived a full life with many interesting careers in the North, the West Coast, and the Kootenays. She lived in the Kootenays for 25 years until she retired from nursing and returned to live in Port Alberni for the past two decades.
An avid reader and gardener, she had an enquiring, vibrant nature and an exceptional knowledge of world and local history. She loved roaming the seashore and beaches, boating, and most of all swimming.
All through the years her nieces and nephews and their families were an important part of her life. She will be remembered for her love and care of family and friends and her kindness to animals.
Our thanks to Trinity Anglican + Lutheran Church, Jan Parker, and John and Pat Casanave for their friendship. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Mary Rock.
