On Sunday, October 31, 2010, at the age of 97, Mary Kershaw passed away peacefully with family at her side.
She was born on October 4, 1913 in Moose Jaw, Sask to her parents Herbert and Fanny Kershaw.
She grew up in Nakusp. She graduated from the VGH School of Nursing in 1948. She worked as a public health nurse in the East and West Kootenay. She was a long-time resident of Nelson and took an active interest in the community.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers and her sister. She is survived by her nephew Daryl (Ella) of Faquier, her niece Lorraine of Chilliwack, numerous great-nephews and nieces, and numerous great-great-nephews and nieces and numerous greatgreat-
great-nephews and nieces.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Nelson United Church, 602 Silica, on Saturday, November 13, at 1:00 p.m.
