A girl of the mountains, Mischa Arnott, 11 (of Nelson, Revelstoke, Whistler) passed away in her parents arms in BC Children's Hospital ICU on May 1, 2018, after a long and difficult battle that can only be described as the true meaning of bravery, perseverance, and determination.

Creative, funny, and compassionate beyond her years, Mischa was a Grade 5 student at Myrtle Philip Community School. A keen skier, rock climber, naturally-gifted artist, dancer, music and animal lover, she had a unique magnetism about her, and sought to make a personal connection with anyone, young or old, who would open their heart in return-forever a true Kootenay girl.

She loved her friends and family with a fierce intensity and loyalty, and even at her age, her birthday parties were legendary. She liked to have a good time, always. An old soul despite her young body, she was simply an incredible and kind young girl, despite the many hardships she continually endured. Always wanting others to feel good about themselves, she reminded us not to "sweat the small stuff" in life.

A public Celebration of Life is open to all, and will be held at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler (which she always called "The Castle"), at 4 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at The Woodland rooftop garden terrace.

Please join her parents Doug and Renata, and her younger sister Esme, to share our love of this wonderful human being who was with us for far too short of a time, but is now flying free.
