In Loving Memory ~
Pat Pickering took her last breath on Tuesday May 4, 2022 at Jubilee Manor after an extended fight with Alzheimers, she passed away at the age of 86 with her son, Tracy, holding her hands and in no pain.
As a lot of people knew she was a very good musician with trophies and a record to her credits and she was a very strong animal lover. She would try to rescue any abandoned cats even feral ones. There was always room for one more kitty in their lives.
She was born in Nelson BC where she grew up and married Gordon Pickering, who recently passed away, and had a family.
She is survived by her son Charles Gunn who resides in Calgary, her son Tracy Pickering who resides in Medicine Hat, stepdaughter Leah Hernandez who resides in Slocan, four grand children, and eight great grandchildren.
She loved playing musical instruments and could play just about all of them, but she was best with the accordion, and was very well known around the Kootenay Region for playing at celebrations of many different types.
On August 3, 2022, there will be an 11:00 am graveside service at Nelson Memorial Park, followed by a 1:00 pm memorial at the Eagles Hall.
