Peter Sam Osachoff, affectionately known as Oscar, passed away on December 18, 2024 after a battle with cancer. Born August 29, 1942, in Perry Siding, BC to Sam and Mary (Davidoff) Osachoff, Peter was the youngest of five children.
Peter attended elementary school in Perry Siding, and in his older years, W.E. Graham School in Slocan. Shortly after his schooling, Peter started his career as a Painter. His profession allowed him to travel throughout the province, working on various industrial projects. Peter eventually retired while working for Summit Painting.
Peter met Verna Fofonoff and were united in marriage in 1971. They resided in South Slocan, where together they lived a fulfilled life and enjoyed travelling. Peter enjoyed fishing, music and had a steady hand for woodworking.
Sadly, Peter was predeceased by his infant sister Tanya, his parents Mary and Sam, and his sisters and brother in-laws Vera Kazakoff (Jack), Lucy Evdokimoff (George) and Dora Evdokimoff (Bill). In August 2022, he suffered the heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife Verna.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital, Dr. Helena Czubernat, and Dr. Wendy Ackermann for their excellent care and support during this difficult time. The Castlegar Funeral Chapel, Harry Zeabin and the Shoreacres Cemetery attendants for their professional services.
