It is with great sadness that the family of Philip Edward M Goffinet announces his passing. He passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 65. He was born in Grand Forks, BC to Eugene and Lena Goffinet. He followed his big sister Judy to the ends of the earth including but not limited to Prince George, BC and then Alberta, finally settling in Calgary to raise his family. Phil will be lovingly remembered and missed by his three children; Michael, Carrie and Dean Goffinet and his two grandchildren, Thomas and Dale Goffinet. He is also survived by his brother in law Dieter; brother Robert and sisters, Lorraine and Ardis . Let us not forget the numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his former wife Deborah Poole.
Special thanks to all of Phil's family and friends for your unwavering support throughout his life, especially the past 15+ years during his battle with depression. The family thanks caregivers from South Campus Health, Foothills Hospital and Bethany Care Transition Unit. A celebration of Phil's life will be held at a later date, details to follow. If friends and family desire, donations in Phil's memory may be made to the Calgary Food Bank or a charity of your choice in memory of PHIL and RUSTY, his canine companion.
