February 9th, 1943 – January 21st, 2014


It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Phyllis Nance on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014 at Kootenay Lake Hospital after a 16 month battle with Cancer at the age of 70.

Phyllis was born February 9th, 1943 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, USA to parents Mike and Cora Douglas. In 1977 Phyllis met the love of her life, Norm Nance, and in 1983 became his wife. Phyllis was an active member of the Eagles for 39 years.

Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband of 37 years Norm Nance, sons Charles (Kelli) McNair, Bruce McNair, Robert (Jan) McNair, step-son Charles Edward (Awa) Nance, step-daughter Cathy Lynn Nance, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many friends and extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15th, 2014 at 1PM at the Nelson Eagles Hall.

The family would like to thank all the nursing staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital and Dr. Keith Bridger for the care of Phyllis.
